Pavel Michailovitch Kousmichoff, the purveyor of delicate blended teas by special appointment to the Tzars until the Revolution in 1918, created The House of Kousmichoff Teas in 1867 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Re-established in Paris in 1920, it remains the only genuine Russian firm and carries on as in former times under the KUSMI Tea label.
